YUGDIVAKAR AACHARYADEV SHRI DHRMASURISHWARJI MAHARAJ

In the historical town of vadhwaan, on shravan shudi 11 of VS 1960, bhaichandkumar took birth in the family of hirachandbhai and chabalben. He was a talented, good looking boy, mostly interested in doing religious activities. In his teenage years itself, he came in contact with pujyapad aacharya bhagwant shri Mohansurishwarji maharaj and at the age of 16, took a secret diksha in a village named saanganpur near Mehsana and became the disciple of mohansuri M.'Sa. disciple pujya muni shri pratapvijayji M.Sa.

For 14 years there on, he became oblivion from the entire world and sanctified each and every second of the day to rot the verses and go through their meanings, related to all the sections of religious studies. Right from thousands of years, "sanskrit" is believed as the most disciplined and at the same time, the most difficult language of this world. It requires the practice of plenty of years to make even 100 shloks accurately. But Dharmavijayji M.Sa., in the diksha-paryay of only 14 years, composed a new volume named sumangala tika (a commentary on shri Navtatva prakaran) which was equivalent to 6000 shloks.

Besides this, he also wrote explanatory notes on panchamshatak karmagranth- shattrinshika chatushka prakarna - kshetrasamas - vandittusutra etc. He was famous in the entire jain community in those days as 'Dravyanuyogna viral vyaakhyata' as he had the artifice of explaining even the most complicated elements of Jain scriptures in the most simplest of language that even an unacquainted person to Jainism could understand everything precisely.

He had received Gani-panyas padvi in VS. 1992, Upadhyaypadvi in Vs 2002 and Aacharyapadvi in VS 2007 in Byculla. In 2020, looking upon his service towards Jainism and his abilities, people honoured him with the title of "Yugdivakar". More than 250 sadhu - sadhviji bhagwant resided under his affectionate shelter.

His main noteworthy work was the inspiration of 135 Deraser - 84 Upaashray - Storeyed Dharmashala in bhuleshwar - Shatrunjay Hospital - Shatrunjay shramani vihaar - Panoli vihaardham etc.

He attained Kaaldharma in VS 2038 on fagan shudi Teras in Mazgaon Upaashray. On that day itself, more than 3 lakh devotees from all around the nation had arrived to get his "Antim Darshan".

His farewell journey was panned out from Godiji to chembur (21 kms) which was witnessed by around 1 lakh people. He was truely a matchless, savant, devoted, August saint of 20th century and a pearl of Jainism.
